Throughout the world, mining companies are becoming fair dinkum about sustainability, according to Professor Ros Taplin, Research Director of the Australian Centre for Sustainable Mining Practices (ACSMP).
Dr Steve Bouzalakos has recently joined ACSMP as a Research Fellow. Steve has research, teaching and consulting experience in Europe and Australia in a wide range of mining and environmental applications.
The recent International Mine Water Congress in Bunbury, Western Australia attracted close to 300 participants. The congress included fieldtrips looking at pit lake management across the Collie River catchment, an historic and active coal mining district.
